To contrast the formal-leaning architecture crating a dynamic, bold design “the selected materials and finishes utilized in this concept result in an interesting tension between the formal and the contemporary as they are timeless in material complimented by contemporary lines,” notes Grace Parry and Jenny Snider, pointing to selections such as the new herringbone oak floor and bespoke upholstered furniture silhouettes with plush bench seats in deep blues and aquas contrasted with modern coffee tables. Shapes remain a bit more streamlined to balance the tension between the traditional and contemporary. Layered together, colors weave through the cool toned pastel pillowscape, hand knotted rugs and dramatic art pieces. The concept features textured shearling, leather, velvet and chenille that infuse a tactile dimension to the design. And, as color is nothing without light, the designer duo also favored statement fixtures comprising brass, sculpted metal and crystal. The home transformation is bright and buoyant, feels as kinetic as the life bustling through its rooms.
